Relays

In HVAC terminology, a relay is basically just another word for a switch. As is the purpose with any other switch, the purpose of a relay in the HVAC world is to turn something on or to turn something off. One form of a relay is a thermostat, which serves to turn the heat or cooling system on and off, or up and down.
